Sociallly Secure!
Over the past few years, it seems that we are becoming more aware of our online presence. I have had numerous contacts from people who have Googled their own names and found photos they'd rather not have out in public and consequently, they have asked me to remove them.
To save any further embarrassment, I have now password protected the entire photo galleries and profiles. The pictures can no longer be linked to from other sites either and will no longer show in Google image search etc.. Whilst the password might not be that secure, it should exclude the casual 'moocher'!
So what else is new? The site revamp that I promised in 2004 and again in 2005 hasn't gone ahead and I'm not convinced it needs it any more. It's here to stay now, and I think now it should just be preserved for posterity. Social networking sites have taken over the need to have our own means of keeping in touch and we share information and pictures in many other ways that were not even thought about back in 2001. Other leaver's sites have come and gone. The pages appear very dated now but it still works, and it still more or less serves its original function. I'm rambling. It's almost 3am.
So, ladies and gentlemen of the class of 99: drop by whenever you feel like it :-)
